In a powerful display of community resolve, Gbakonah Town in District #4, Bong County, recently played host to a transformative day-long intensive training. Organized by Youth Action Lead Liberia (YALL), this session was more than an educational workshop—it was a strategic briefing for the next generation of climate defenders.
A Crucial Fusion: Climate Science Meets Legal Strategy
The Gbakonah training was built on a unique “Cosine” principle: Intersectionality. We recognize that passion for the environment is most effective when backed by the power of the law.
The curriculum was split into two high-impact segments:

Climate Justice Principles: Participants engaged in deep-dives regarding the global climate crisis and its specific, localized impact on Bong County. We explored how environmental shifts place an unfair burden on our most vulnerable neighbors.

Legal Empowerment Skills: This segment equipped attendees with the “legal compass” needed to navigate complex regulations. From understanding fundamental human rights to mastering the specifics of Liberian environmental law, participants learned how to turn grievances into formal advocacy.
Diversity in Action
The room was a vibrant tapestry of Gbakonah’s community fabric. The exchange of ideas was fueled by a diverse group of stakeholders, including:
